THE CHALLENGE
The building had to be installed on the first level of a multi storey car park, at Schipol Airport in Amsterdam.
THE OUTCOME
Initial site visit took place to establish the width of the access in to the multi storey car park and assess the proposed location and consider available head height.
Due to the restrictions on access, we were unable transport the units complete from the factory in the traditional manner so the design was changed so that the building could be built in panels that could be erected on site in as short a timescale as possible.
Restrictions on height in the final location meant the building had to be designed with the lowest possible depth of floor and roof to maintain the highest possible internal ceiling height. With our complete bespoke design, the internal ceiling height was maintained at just over 2m with an overall height from floor to roof of the multistory of under 2.4m.
The building was successfully built in panels and erected in the car park with key handed over inside 2 weeks.
